I also alternate thumb drives. There has been at least one occasion when the rescue media had a serious bug, ok it was fixed in a couple of hours but even so.
This time it took them more than a week to fix the wrong drive letter issue ......... kinda surprising compared to their usual hours turnaround.

I'm going to wait on updating to this new version since that .6353 bug bit me .

Surprised me too but I guess it wasn't a show stopper.

I, too, make alternate USB media each time an update of MR is released. Takes little time and I'm a belt and braces advocate.

Yeah - it still restored fine but drive letters other than C were wrong but only took a minute or so to reassign.

Oddly enough, I got a windows update and after that the asssignments were fine - go figure!

Keith, although I find it a very good idea, I know why you're doing it.... it's because you're addicted to new versions and you can't resist updating immediately after a new version appears!!!!

I still have Macrium 7 free and it told me there was an update today (7.3.6391) but when I try to update it it wants to update me to Macrium 8. How do I get the version 7 update?
Yes, I have one machine on v7 Free and I get exactly the same as you. I can't find any way round this, so I have asked about it on the Macrium Reflect forum.

Checking for updates in v7 Free downloads the v8 installer

Do you have a good reason for wanting to stay on v7? All my other machines are on v8 now, but for this one PC I need to stay on v7 because it has such a low res screen (1024x600). In v8, particularly when booting to Macrium recovery, some of the pages don't fit on such a small screen and the buttons are unreachable.

Thanks for the reply. No, I really don't have a good reason to stay on v7 and in fact I decided to upgrade to v8 and all is fine.

It appears the MR site had some ups and downs at least throughout this morning (in North America) and were off- and online from time to time. Various reports on the Net say updates [not working/working just fine] in different daytime time-frames, and "offline" balloons appeared and disappeared for a while during the busiest period of updating demand.
