    Antivirus Warning

Hello. Newbie here....be gentle! I have a minor but very annoying problem. I have McAfee Antivirus on my HP laptop running Windows 10. Over the last couple of weeks a Windows warning keeps popping up sometimes telling me that the antivirus is turned off, which it isn't, and sometimes that McAfee is out of date and needs updating, which it doesn't. Sometimes there is a red cross on the Security Shield which changes to green when I click on the warning. Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum @Chosen Man

Did you run a full AV scan on all drives?

McAfee doesn't seem to give that option now. Just "Run Scan". Used to be "Run Quick Scan" and "Run Full Scan"....which took an age to complete.

Do you have any other computer to download a portable scanner?
Do you have a Win 10 installation USB drive?

I'd like to see a screenshot so I can consider whether or not the warning is genuine.
It might be a hacker trying to get you to click on their popup.

    All the best,
