I plan to go on a trip so this would be in case of loss of the USB drive.
Any recommendations or suggestions?
Built-in Windows tool is preferred but 3rd party portable tools is fine too.

For the tools you mentioned, will I be able unencrypt or unhide them in Windows 7 without using 3rd party tools or if I have to, without have to install a program in the other user's PC.
I wanted to protect a folder that has 1TB of data and quickly make it accessible elsewhere.
I tried using Bit-locker on the external portable drive attached to my Win10 desktop but I could not access the portable bit-locked drive in another users Win7 desktop.
Another question: if a drive has bit-locker and develops a hardware problem, will Seagate still be able to check it if I send it to them for warranty work? Thanks again.
