Win Iphone X popup in Firefox - how to remove?

    Hi,

I just started seeing the popup in Firefox a few days ago. I ran a Windows Defender full scan and nothing was detected. I saw it again today, so I am a little worried that there is something mal on my system.

Searching google for solutions shows so many variations on how to kill it, so I am looking for advice here.

Is there a good way to clean this one out?

    Thanks,
    lrw

adwcleaner and malwarebytes are good programs at removal.

Is the pop up in the link above what you are getting?

It suggests using control panel, which you can access by clicking start and typing control panel.

I also use start > settings > apps > then sort the list by install date instead of names. Delete the programs you recently installed.

    Hi Ken,

My popup is not exactly the same but pretty similar. On the couple of times that I saw it, I just closed the tab to make it go away.

Here's what I have in my recent apps:

That first one, along with the minecraft and Visual C++ look a little suspicious to me - I don't recall installing them and pretty sure they aren't needed.

I will look at the adwcleaner and malwarebytes.

    Thanks,
    lrw

I would be suspect of anything in last few days. Dlete them all, then re-install from a trusted, trusted source.

ran both the adwcleaner and malwarebytes and rebooted - both found some things to clean up. Ran them again after reboot and they came back clean now. Thanks. Hopefully it is gone for good

Glad to hear the problem is resolved.

I have recently been testing the Chrome extension AdGuard and have been quite impressed with the results so far. Might be worth adding as an extra layer of defense.

I believe there is a version for Firefox.
