Hopefully MS adds a toggle switch to turn this feature on or off. It's quite annoying, and I hate I have to use a work around just so my PC will do a full shut down
agree on a toggle button. this change microsoft made was making my pc even slower at booting up and logging in.
Hi Brink, Thank you for this. I also have the Shutdown Sound by right clicking, and selecting Shutdown PC with warning. I had tried everything else, creating the task in Task Scheduler, it worked once, and then did not again.
I tried from regedit. It probably sounds strange, but maybe because the pc is shutting down slower makes it
work. I do not get the sound if I press shutdown from Windows 10 menu or from Classic Shell Menu. I am happy to
have the short Shutdown Sound like I had in Windows 7, and better just right clicking on the desktop context menu
to shutdown.
Hi Brink. I modified the Shutdown context menu entry for This PC analogous to that for the restart. The reg file seems to work without issue. I am uploading it to this thread. Does it look correct?

Great! Thank you!
Good morning @Brink
In the shutdown context menu, why doesn't the reg file have this command listed in the shutdown tutorial
(Shut Down Computer in Windows 10)
shutdown /p /f
Forces running apps to close, and turns off the local computer with no time-out or warning ?
Thanks!
