Suddenly, my pdf thumbnails appear inside of a kinda white square, like this:

I have no idea why this started happening, but installing an older Adobe Reader version has not...
When I add a new PDF to my desktop, it doesn't show a thumbnail preview. Then, if I put it in the bin and back to the desktop, it suddenly appears.
So the recycle bin is able to show thumbnail...

Doing the "bin workaround", I can see the thumbnails again, but only inside such an ugly white square:
