Just an update, restored my Acronis backup, 7 days old, all is well and working fine, just had to install a couple of programs that were installed prior to the backup. No data loss as everything else...

[Update] After leaving it spinning away for a while, 5 or 10 minutes I came back and it was at my desktop, unfortunately there seems to be quite a lot of issues.
