I'm struggling to find the VLC feature that'll stop my monitor from being turned on all the time...
Anyone know?
Thanks! I'm just so happy my monitor turns off now...
Good news:
I just shut down the VLC Media Player app and now the monitors turn off!
Do you know if it's possible for my monitor to turn off as soon as I press "Windows Key + L"?
I just tried using a different monitor:
I plugged in an Acer monitor and set Windows 10 to only use the Acer monitor and I locked Windows 10 and went to another room for 15minutes but when I came...
The monitor is connected directly to the graphics card.
The graphics card is a Nvidia 460 with 1GB of memory with the latest Nvidia drivers.
Is there a way I can do this without needing to...
Okay I just locked the PC and went into another room for 5minutes and the screen was still on when I came back...
Thanks!
Is this how you want it?

I was just thinking: Is it possible that an app is forcing the monitor to stay on? I'm only running the apps I need open, but I just thought this could be possible...
I hope this screenshot makes it easier for you:

I followed the advice in Option 1, but I don't have the ability to "Console lock display off timeout"
I've still got it set to 1 minute in the setting "Turn off Display after".
I'll try to post...
Okay, I just "locked" my Windows 10 PC and after waiting for 10minutes the screen is still on. I don't know why this is happening, but it really sucks...
Thanks for your reply!
I just had to install a Windows 10 Update and after rebooting it now seems that the monitor turns off by itself so I think the problem is solved!
I just tried something different: I went into "Power Options" and set the Display to turn off after 3 minutes.
I then "Locked" Windows 10 and went outside for 10 minutes, but the Display was still...
Is there a way I can tell the monitor to dim itself after a set time? I'm afraid I'm damaging the monitor by it being turned on 24/7... :(
The monitor is a Dell ST2220L.

Please let me know if anyone has an idea of what I can try?
I've noticed that the monitor will now sometimes turn off and sometimes stay on...
Is there a way to tell Windows 10 to turn off the monitor when I "Lock" the PC?
Thanks, but I already tried re-installing the Nvidia drivers a few times.
Is there something else I can try?
Hey guys, I'm running Windows 10 Pro and I've set my monitor to turn off after 10minutes in "Power saving" but it doesn't turn off. It stays on all night...
Anyone know what I can do?
Thanks!
