Actually, nevermind, the problem is not solved :(
When I unpin the folders even from the File Explorer taskbar button, they are also unpinned from the Quick Access (but only after closing and...
Daaaamnnn, you’re right! That’s so weird, I didn’t see the "Unpin" button in the File Explorer taskbar button until now! But I’ve been fiddling around with Classic Shell, so maybe it disabled it...
But if I unpin them from my list of folders (by that do you mean my Quick Access?), then they’re not in the Quick Access anymore :(
I just need them to be steadily available in the File Explorer on...
Hi KeithM and thanks for your answer.
Unfortunately that didn’t seem to work.
Here is the current situation (see GIF animation below): got a number of folders in my Quick Access and they still...
I just did, and still get a column of my Quick Access links/folders when I right click a File Explorer icon on the Task Bar.
Hi FreeBooter,
Thanks, that helps a little, now the Recent folders don’t appear in the right click anymore.
However, the Quick Access folders still do, see screenshot below:

Hi all,
I have many folders pinned in my Quick Access, which I like that way (see screenshot below).

Hi Jimbo.
Except it actually does support IMAP, and brilliantly so. It’s handled much more responsively and dynamically than WLM was ever able to.
But old habits die hard, so for now I will...
Hi David, thanks for following up.
The problem reappeared once and I solved it the same way: clearing the cache in Internet Explorer and closing/reopening WLM. I still can’t believe those two...
Then you are wrong to speculate, because I didn’t restart my computer before the problem was solved. Maybe WLM was stuck using problematic files that the IE cache cleanup removed?
Who knows...
Thanks David. I know how to clear the Firefox cache, I just fail to see how this is directly linked to WLM’s inability to connect to the Outlook SMTP server successfully. It feels like two very...
Firefox
Damn. It works now. I don’t use IE at all, but I still did what you said and now it seems to work.
I don’t understand how this is even remotely linked to one another. I suppose the IE cache is...
Ah yeah, right. Cheers!
Thank you for your answer.
I should have mentioned I use Windows 7... Which is why I use WLM and not Windows Mail.
Hi David, thanks for your reply. I don’t know how to unmark the thread, I couldn’t find a way to do so.
I am indeed using WLM from Essentials 2012, but I cannot find the "Settings > Accounts" /...
Shit, no, it still does it :(
Keeps asking for my password on smtp-mail.outlook.com all the time, even after relaunching WLM.
HALP.
Well, I solved it by changing and re-entering the correct connection settings, and then closed and reopened WLM. Sorry for the disturbance.
Hi,
Since yesterday, Windows Live Mail (WLM) keeps asking for my password ONLY when I try to send an email. This happens ONLY on Outlook.com/Hotmail/Live/MSN accounts. See error below:
...
Cool trick! I hope for you it will last.
I found the definitive solution for POP.
- Create a new account with POP settings
- Have WLM automatically download all the Inbox emails
- Then simply select ALL your Sent emails from the old...
Actually, there's one slight problem.
With POP, it seems the Sent, Drafts and Deleted folders do not download the emails from the server.
...
Okay, it's finally happening.
Three of my six Hotmail accounts have stopped working.
The POP solution works, just create a new account with the details provided here: Solved Update for Windows...

1. I don't pay for my Internet access, but yeah, nice try.
2. Let me rephrase it for you then, if it makes you feel better: don't want to PAY ADDITIONALLY to READ MY EMAIL.
