Wel from the screen I can see that you have wifi enabled so I assumed it should be lit. Other than that On my tab everything works as it should and tabs are white. The only one that gets grayed out...

It works absolutely fine. It disables all connections when enabled but then you can still enable wifi and all will look as on your screen, but disabling airplane mode then and enabling it back again...
