That is true! I cannot use the latest drivers from AMD, Windows pushed the version it preferred. But i will say, it has worked best with the one's they recommended. Each case is different though....
Sorry, i forgot to mention to do the UNCHECK step on the mouse itself as well. It will be under Mice and other Pointing Devices within the device manager.
unfortunately there isn't a lot to a usb mouse. what i would suggest is checking the power management settings on it.
