thanks for that - managed to get into a dos prompt then I did a full chkdsk - and then rebooted - no luck

i then tried a sfc /scannow but it said there was a scan already scheduled and to...

So i booted into the dvd



I hit enter and nothing happened, then hit f8 and nothing happened....

erm what should i try next?
