I wonder if they count people who are still on W7 or 8.1 but have W10 installed on VMware, for example. I like playing with W10 but there's no way I'd give up W7 for it.
Thanks, as usual, Brink.
Sorry, Brink, I should have been clearer. I was referring to this blog: Making it Easier to Upgrade to Windows 10 | Windows Experience Blog
and the fact that it says in there:
"You can...
Has anyone found the way to turn off notifications as mentioned in the blog ?
If you select a document and then click on Home you get options to Copy - Cut - Move - Delete, etc.
Don't know if it's been mentioned here, but in Gabriel Aul's post at the top he mentions that Cortana now works with user accounts in this build and not just MS accounts. No use to me since I have...
Glad to help. Any more problems, just ask, someone will be here for you.
No need to install - go to Start Menu and find Windows Accessories under All Apps - IE11 is there ready to open.

You'll find it's already there under Windows Accessories :)
Edit: I should have added - once opened - right click on address bar for an option to show Menu Bar.
It's not just the updates, they can 'upgrade' the OS at any time too. Which means add, change or remove features. You may like it now but what about years down the line ?
Surely 3.2GB isn't just August updates !
I had a problem with Start not working and posted a solution back in June. You could check it out - it may help:

Any help here ?
Did you go to your preferred search engines website first ?
I updated to the latest version and now each time I reboot it brings up a UAC window asking permission to run. Never did previously.
It's listed to start with the PC in msconfig.
I think it's only meant to change the default search engine for the internet (address bar)
I'm sure someone will come up with something for the Taskbar search.
OK back on my laptap now.
Open Edge browser and bring up the home page of the search engine you want, eg Google.
Now click the 3 dots in the top right corner of Edge and scroll down to...
I'll have a look tonight.
I changed to Duckduckgo. I'm on a tablet at the moment so can't describe exactly. First open the search engines home page, in your case Google. Then go to settings and default apps in W10 look for...
Gee - so much work went into it I'm almost sorry I've got it turned off - but only almost . But really - what bullsh** Over 1 billion Chinese people all want the same thing ? - all Canadians...
Pity they didn't just concentrate on making a decent browser.
I read it to mean you can only install a particular app on 10 different devices. Not limiting you to installing only 10 apps.
There's usually an option at the bottom to 'restart now'
Hi - Thanks for your comments on my earlier post. We obviously have different ways of working.
When I'm out in the afternoon with a tablet, it's full of tiles and icons, it's a great way to...
