Microsoft just released cumulative update KB3081444, and after the reboot loop and uninstall error from KB3081424, KB3081436 and KB3081438, the latest finally installed without issue on my machine....
That was posted by a mod on the Microsoft site a week ago. They have not issued this update via Windows Update, nor have they even mentioned doing so. They haven't even mentioned the cumulative...
I think if Microsoft wants to keep people loyal to their OS, they still have ways to go. While I think Windows 10 will be a very good OS and is a huge return to form with new features to boot, "the...
Thanks very much!
Tried it and still goes into reboot loop, uninstalling the update.
Thanks for that info Simrick. I actually found that a Microsoft rep said that update "KB3081440" is going to roll out, which is supposed to fix the issue. It was posted 4 days ago, and I believe it...
I'm still unable to install both kb3081424 (from 2 weeks ago) and kb3081438. Is there any reason to stick with Windows 10 right now if I can't even perform updates? Apparently Microsoft hasn't even...
Ok, after last week's kb3081424 that wouldn't install, now kb3081436 gives the generic error "0x8024001e."
Strongly considering rolling back to Windows 7 at this point.
I never experienced an indefinite "boot loop" that others reported, however, it will reboot 4 times while saying "the updates could not be installed... undoing changes." My download for today's...
Does this update correct the installation issues many experienced with kb3081424??? Or is Microsoft just going to leave those users hanging indefinitely?
Please give us the "new Microsoft" that...
Ok, thanks for the info. Prizna, looks like you have a separate issue.
I hadn't thought of that, but it makes sense. I did my upgrade when it became available on release day. Now I wish I waited a few days.
Yes, others have reported the same thing upon going into the registry. I'm holding out since this is my main computer and I don't want to screw up the registry. I am receiving other updates specific...
It's still showing up on my end, so it looks like your problem is different. I'm also still getting driver updates with no problem. The issue is specifically related to the cumulative update.
Problem still persists as of Sunday evening, still no official fix from Microsoft. ZDNet has also posted an article:
Windows 10 cumulative update causes 'reboot loop' havoc for some users |...
I'll let you know if I get more info on this. I really don't want to be tinkering with the registry if I don't know if it's the problem. For me, Cumulative Update KB3081424 is the only update with...
I posted a thread last evening asking the same question. There are others reporting the same thing: KB3081424 will get to around 50%, then it will say "unable to install, undoing changes," while...
This is the first cumulative update and it's not working. The update downloads, then on reboot, it begins the installation, then, "We couldn't complete the updates. Undoing changes. "
It also...
