    Giving computer away reinstall ???

I just purchased a new desktop computer and I have Windows 11 on it. Down the road a week or two I want to give my desktop running Windows 10 to my son & D-I-L. Should I reinstall using the reset in Windows 10 or is it best to get a current up to date ISO file and install? It is currently running Windows 10 version 22H2. Would the one on the computer go back a whole lot of years and need hours of update downloads or would it go get the current Windows 10?

Also, can I run the ISO if I load it on the computer. I am not sure how to boot from a USB drive, it has the capability but I have never tried it.

    Thank you, Donna

You can reset and go for the delete all option that will wipe everything and reinstall Windows 10.

Just reset it and it will wipe out your account and info and that is it. No need to update or reinstall the OS.

What do you got to hide?...... Just make sure nothing important is on it.

If it was a relatively new recent Windows 10 installation then it's easiest to reset remove files followed by the reinstallation of drivers and desired applications.

If it was an old Windows 10 installation with the recovery partition on the left side of the data partition or a Windows 7 or 8.1 installation then clean install Windows 10.

It's an opportune time to run disk tests to make sure it's free of problems.

Why does someone who wants to give away a nice, clean, fresh computer have something to hide? Once I received the computer, I would just do a clean install of Windows anyway in order to have a nice, clean, fresh computer anyway. Before I sell or give away a computer, I always do a clean install of Windows and use Audit Mode to update it, install drivers, and show the recipient that it works. Then I use sysprep to shutdown to OOBE so they start it up and get the fresh out of the box experience.
