They would have installed the os atleast!
Return it - You would at least expect to be able to Boot and setup Windows.
Not unusual, I bought 2 different Brands from different sources before buying the one I'm using now.
They were different faults on each one. the first had 1 major fault - Wireless card, the 2nd about 3 different faults including battery, bits coming off the chassis, and a trackpad which used increasing amounts of CPU the longer it was on.
I suppose they think consumers know nothing and they can get away with it.
The OP error code was obstructed by the light.
Had you checked the BIOS settings?
"No Bootable Device" Error Message
I registered a complaint on amazon. They have scheduled a technician visit to my place on Sunday between 2-4 PM
I observed the following today:
1. I just booted from pen drive just to check if there was an OS installed and there wasn't any.(Only empty partitions)
2. For accessing the BIOS it takes 10 minutes.
There is something really wrong with this device.
If you want to find the status of the computer's hardware/software you can use some bootable flash drives:
Find some flash drives that you can format.
On a working computer create:
a) a bootable windows 10 iso
Download Windows 10 ISO File
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10
b) a bootable Ubuntu flash drive
Create a bootable USB stick on Windows | Ubuntu tutorials
c) Kyhi boot rescue flash drive
Windows 10 Recovery Tools - Bootable Rescue Disk
Boot to the windows 10 iso:
Code:Open command prompt and type: bcdedit /enum all bcdedit | find "osdevice" reaentc /info diskpart lis dis lis vol sel dis 0 det dis lis par sel par 1 det par sel par 2 det par sel par 3 det par sel par 4 det par sel par 5 det par sel dis 1 det dis lis par
Good luck.
Problems might be interconnected. If drive failing (failed) then maybe device is trying to establish connection before presenting BIOS as it will want to show Boot order.
At least they are listening... not sure tech is going to be carrying Acer default load.
I would be careful about what you say, just you got it and it doesn't boot. If you start telling them you've done this or that, booted from USB, etc they may, and I did say may, try to imply you damaged.
I would be cautious about making changes. If you leave time stamps or they detect you have done something you are opening yourself up.
The tech is scheduled and you have warranty.
Thank you very much..
As advised by you I am not doing anything. For amazon to initiate a refund they require a report from this technician..
For the camera issue he just did a reset assuming that the problem will be solved.. It had an OS so he was successful in doing that.. But now I wonder how he is going to proceed..
Caledon Ken, Is HDD failing?
Can you please expain this " not sure tech is going to be carrying Acer default load"
I told the customer care that there was no OS installed. I told them I am getting the error that "No bootable media found".
When that technician arrives I will just tell him that there was no OS
