Windows sign-in: LogonUI.exe - Application Error
I am using HP dm4 laptop pre-installed with Windows 7 Home Edition.
I have upgraded to Windows 10 Home edition as part of the upgrade during Windows 10 release around august. After the windows 10 upgrade my HDMI was not working.
I used to connect my laptop to Sony TV which was not working after the upgrade.
Apart from that no issues.
Suddenly today when i switched on my laptop, getting the below error:
Windows sign-in: LogonUI.exe - Application Error
The instruction at 0x0000000000000000 refeenced memory at 0x0000000000000000. The memory could not be written.
I tried to login with safe mode, but couldn't login. Then i have downloaded the USB windows 10 bootable disc and followed the below instruction to enter safe mode which is not success.
Using the windows 10 bootable disc, there is option to install the windows 10, but it is asking for product key which i entered the valid windows 7 product key (pre-installed windows) sticked back of my laptop was not verified.
Do i need to install windows 7 first? Please advice.
Also, i have ran HP system diagonistic for START UP TEST (memory test - PASSED, SMART check - PASSED, optmized DST - PASSED, BatteryTest - FAILED)
Hard Disk Test (SMART check - PASSED, short DST - PASSED, long DST - PASSED)
Memory Test - PASSED
