Windows Boot issues
Hey everyone,
I have an hp envy 14 sleekbook which had a 500 gb HDD. I have installed a samsung 256gb ssd in the laptop. I tried to install windows 10 recently on the ssd. Everything in the installation process was fine but when my laptop booted after the process it gave the error that bootable device not found.
I got the windows to boot by pressing esc as the laptop starts. Then i go to the boot options. There are two. One is booting from the notebook HDD while the other one is booting from EFI. I chose the EFI option. An explorer pops up with an EFI folder. I go into it. There are two folders - Microsoft and Boot. I go into Boot. There is an .EFI file present which i press enter on and then my laptop goes into the OS boot manager.
I have searched all over the forums but cannot find anything to fix this issue. Everytime I turn on my laptop I have to do this. Please help me on how to solve this. I have tried to go to the boot menu in the BIOS and there are no options for setting priorities for individual hard drives.
I was running Windows 8.1 before which worked absolutely fine.
