Computers turn on randomly

I have two Dells- Optiplex 780 & 790 both running Win10-1903. I usually keep these in "Sleep" or "Hibernate" mode when I'm not using them. Well I've noticed that at random times during the night these computers will start up and run 10 minutes or so then return to Sleep or Hibernate. During this time the harddrive light shows activity of some sort. If I turn the monitor on it just shows the usual log-in screen. Does anybody know what's going on here? Are my computers possessed? Do I need an exorcist?

This is a sideways answer: unless you need them on for some reason -- turn them off at night.

Your PC RAM will always be refreshed each morning. Allow components to cool off. Can't be hacked hours on end.

Do you have a critter (cat)?. Is wake-on-lan on or off. (bios). Something scheduled to run at that time?

Pool Man} I've always heard it's better to not heat-cycle electronics unnecessarily. meebers} I don't have a cat. Nothing is scheduled that I know of- and it's not the same time each day. Caledon Ken} What kind of maintenance is this? Is there a way I can see what's being done?

Do you have a gamepad controller plugged into your computer?

I used to have this problem with an Xbox 360 controller that had a drifting issue with the left analog stick. And basically what happened is my computer would never go to sleep or have the display turn off. The micro drifting issue was causing the screen to wake up and rarely go to sleep.

If you have a controller make sure you have calibrated it from your devices control panel settings. If after calibration you continue to notice it, then you may need to replace the gamepad controller.

I had to buy new Xbox One controller last year as the old one was drifting by itself and my FIFA players were moving even when I left the analog stick alone. New controller in my case solved the problem.

No, there is nothing like that connected to either computer.

It's just weird to hear it start up in the middle of the night with the sound effects I have when files open and close.
