Windows 10 Update Fails to Install Error 0x80070002

My Acer Laptop running W10 version 1703 failed an attempt to update. It showed the following:

"There were problems installing some updates, but we will try again later.........
    2017-11CumulativeUpdate for Windows 10 Version 1703for x64 based systems [KB 4048954] - Error Ox8007002"

I tried several Retrys with the same result. I found a few articles on the web about this error but they were above my ability to comprehend.

Will someone please give me help in getting this problem solved?

    Thank you very much.

    Hi JJG10

Rather than give you another article to read

Have you tried running from a Command Prompt (admin) or powershell(admin) ..... (Right click Start, one of these will be listed)

    sfc /scannow

    Please post back results.

Next I would run the update trouble shooter.... Start > Settings > Updates and security > Troubleshoot > On right Windows Update

    Test.

    Thank you, Ken.

I was about to mark the problem solved when I found your post and I appreciate it.

Yesterday I decided to restore a Macrium image from last week and run update from there. It took a while but eventually finished with a completely updated system. Thank goodness for Macrium Reflect.

    Thanks again.

Yes. I wish we could get the message out.

So many people are just hoping nothing goes wrong instead of being ready for when something does go wrong.

This issue has hunted me on a win 8 upgrade to win 10 for years, the above sfc thingy works sometimes. Why has win 10 turned into a nightmare on this system that use to run win 8
