    For the other devices

Right click on each adapter, then properties, then Details tab, in property box set it to hardware id. Document first line. You can google and it should tell us what you are looking at and then we hope we can get driver from Dell.

    For Ken: Service Tag No.

    Hi,

    Service Tag is: B7SQ182
    BIOS Vers. is: 2.1.3

In Device Manager, as I wrote, there were several items with the question marks.
So, I updated the drivers on them.
    Wouldn't do all of them.
Screen went blank again during the installation.

What I find hard to understand, age problem probably, is that if it a driver problem, which I guess is most likely due to the question marks, what could have changed in my system, as it worked just fine for these 2 years ?

Keep thinking it is (also ?) possibly a Board problem.
Perhaps heats up and shuts off, or...?

Haven't checked after the last attempt at the Driver updates, but after the first time I did them, upon a re-boot, the question marks were still there. What might this imply ?

Don't really want to put any more money into PC, but Amazon has some PCI video boards that are relatively cheap.
They have one for only $ 7.00

    Thoughts ?

    Best regards,
    Bob

Here is what I think is happening and the black screen issue is all over the forum in different flavours.

You load 10, it runs, it miss identifies a device or it just promotes new drivers on to device to the point where it craps out.

If you are concerned about heat open the unit up, carefully. If it load with whatever then it needs to be cleaned.

If Windows has misidentified device you won't get right driver and if Windows can't identify a device it can't update it.

Great news. Your device is supported on Windows 10 and there is a drawer full of 10 drivers using your Service tag number.

Dell says you have an nVidia Display adapter. A couple of posts back you said it was MS.

So if we are going to solve this you need to help me help you.

Load Windows 10 from your USB with no connection to the Internet. Then disable driver updates doing one of the solutions I posted above.

Do not connect to the Internet and do not try to update drivers. Please.

When that is done post back and we will attempt to solve.

    Thanks.
