I have for the last three installs puit on version 1803 and then as soon as I update the version to 1809 I get a virus warning - any ideas please could this be just a false positive??

What/who is the source of the warning? What is the supposed virus? What AV program are you running, if at all?
Well it seems to be sourced from Microsoft itself and I am running Eset. The thing is that I have three separate drives in this machine now that this has happened on and I don't get this alert until I update to version 1809.
Once it happens it never shows again and it wasn't that long ago I had the machine checkd out by a tech store.
I will Porthos if it comes up again it is accompanied by a very loud noise from my speaker system to which seems odd to me and wants me to download something to scan with.
What seems to be the weirdest thing is that it happens llike I said when I update to version 1809 from 1803 which I load from a genuine Microsoft DVD. By the by this was a brand new drive too so it isn't as if I have used it before for anything else and just cleaned it.
What I might do is clean a drive and try again and see if it will produce the same effect when it comes to updating to 1809.
Addit Just as a matter of interest the Eset I have scanned the machine twice now and nothing is being detected.
Yes mate I am usually doing soemthing in a tab while the process is going on - am using Edge at the current time.
Thanks Porthos it does seem an odd coincidence that it happens when I change versions and the fact that it had the Microsoft colours depicted at the top in a four square pattern appears in what looks to be something similar to a genuine warning that was bothering me.
If it ever comes up again on this machine then I will make sure I get a screenshot. As it is I reboot anyway instead of doing anything else but I will try another drive and see what happens.
All it takes is a pixel with an embedded program in a served up ad in a browser web page to give you what you are seeing. They are sometimes called Third Party Pixel Elements. My system has gotten them using IE11 and foreign based web sites, usually in the UK.
