Yes Item number 2 to create a bootable USB drive. You will not boot from this drive. You will do an inplace repair / upgrade following this.

They sent me a reply saying

We do all the updates without any problems.

You may have to reinstall windows and hopefully the issue will be resolved

I told them this isn't good enough. Should I ask them for the windows 10 disk so i don't have to do the confusing 3 steps mentioned?
To me they should fix this as they sent it faulty

Your choice and it should be under warranty.

Creating USB key with code is very easy. Head here

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/soft...load/windows10

download tool. Double click on tool to execute, say you want to update another machine, click on create USB. (Need 8GB Usb Thumb drive).

    Key made.

You then can navigate to key and double click setup. It is recommend that you disable secure boot in BIOS, yours might not be on.

Clean install would be next and as you have key most of the work is done. I say this as you have no programs or data on machine.

Should but you never had to do iso thing. The USB key process I outlined eliminates the need.

So when you get disk what is plan. Clean install. If so please post the same disk picture you originally posted so we can see if anything is different. You will then likley have to do the upgrade with fingers crossed.

    Good luck.

So do I just put the disk in follow the prompts and fresh install or is there more to it? Sorry if I'm sounding dumb

You are not sounding dumb. Everyone starts at the beginning.

When you get disk you will boot from disk, I think either F10 or F12 is the boot menu, pick dvd. Then yes follow the prompts.

I would add an extra step, when asked what type of install pick Custom Install, it will ask where, delete all the existing partitions, then proceed. Let Windows assign the new partitions.

Now when you boot from DVD you encounter a secure boot message. If so you would enter BIOS and disable. Lets not get to far ahead as that will just generate unnecessary concerns.

You will be asked for product key. Just click I do not have Product key.

Here is our clean install tutorial.

Just to add....check out youtube on how to do this. At least this way you will get a visual on what you are about to do.
