Still Haven't Received Fall Update and it's Oct 19th

    It's just that referring to it as the MCT link instead of the Microsoft "Software download" link might confuse some to use MCT by mistake instead of the Update Assistant to upgrade.

    Thanks for all the replies. I'll follow your suggestions. BTW, is there any benefit in waiting to download the update, giving it time for any bugs to be worked out?

    Another confusing 'technicality' is that if you do download the MCT tool and run it the first thing you see is another 'update now'. Click it and the MCT behaves in much the same way as the update assistant :)

    Success! I just finished installing the Fall update. Sure took a while. Now I have version 1709 (OS build 16299.19). Thanks, everyone, for your assistance with this thread.
