    FCU upgrade Unusual Issue

This morning I am still unable to get a complete working install of the FCU upgrade.
    The install has completed,
I get to the place where you Put in your password for my Local Account, the screen comes up that more updates need to be installed and that process continues then I'm kicked back to the log on screen.
Putting in my password again flashes to to my desktop, very quickly it flashes back to Log on screen. I see that I'm still having hard drive activity so I let it run for a few hours last night.
Then logged on again. It flashed to my desktop I can see the dialog to say ok for classic Shell to configure but my screen flashed back to log on screen before I can click in to accept Classic Shell setting up.
I have also tried to hit the pause button but it flashes back to the log on screen faster than I can hit that key too.
I have restored back to the Image I created just before attempting this upgrade 3 times not. so glad I made this image.

This is my G752VY Notebook, Native 10 upgraded to 10 Pro, has been running perfectly as it is now rolled back to yesterday before attempting the In place upgrade with USB created by MCT
I did make one attempt with MCT and a straight up upgrade this install came up with the same result
I did try the update from Catalog however this update said that it was not compatible with my notebook???

I have upgraded my 2 desktops with no issues they are also running Classic Shell and classic shell is updated on all three on all three units.

I do have updates paused, I'm worried about getting into a loop of the update installing not working and them not being able to get to my desktop, restoreing my Image. that would be bad.

    Anyone have any ideas

    Hi Clintlgm.

Before trying diagnostic procedures I always recommend that you create a backup of your data off machine, create an Image with a tool like Macrium Reflect and have bootable media that matches your current Windows environment.

Reset Windows Update in Windows 10

You already have an Image so that is a positive.

I think I would start by resetting Window updates, follow tutorial, then check for updates on current version.

    Is sfc /scannow running clean?

I would then get a new copy of the media creation tool and recreate your USB media. I would follow the Inplace repair / upgrade tutorial with particular attention to the two BIOS settings it says to change.

Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

Yes I have restored my image 3 times now
unable to reset WU, error BITS has not been shut down
    SFC/Scannow shows no errors
I'm on my 3rd MCT download to create USB thumb drive
I did not disable Norton or Malwarebytes, I will on next attempt.
I didn't now see any BIOS change settings, I have to be carefule on the notebook with BIOS setting No issue currently running IRST drivers for M.2 PCIE Samsung 960 NVME drive. but fast boot is turned off
I have been trying the inplace upgrade Install.

I did try to download the the update from the catalog this is how I like to run major updates normally however I'm getting a ERROR

Running this file I get this Error????

This kind of makes me wonder what this heck is going on?

This afternoon I have run the in place/Repair upgrade, I have uninstalled Classic Shell and 8 Gadget pack. the install is completed, I can access the files on this computer though my P2P network computer. I did get to the point that I put in my Local Account password as normal, got the dialog that I they have more updated for me twice, then my desktop flashed and then my Log on screen comes up again I put in my Password hit enter and my desktop flashes and back login screen again.?

I am also posting to Asus ROG forum but no one over the seems to be having any issues
I'm confused this should be working.
Next attempt I will pause Norton and Malwarebyte

The only changes in BIOS are disable Secure Boot and disable Fast Boot.

Yes fast boot stays off, I'll turn off Secure book on next attempt. Although I don't see any of that causing this particular issue, since the Repair/upgrade install is completing. I just have this Issue with the Sign on Screen blocking my desktop!!!! I have verified I have full access to the the files on this notebook just not the desktop.
I also find it strange that the Catalog up date file reports my notebook is not for this upgrade?

I attempted again last night, the repair install is completing, I'll have to take some pictures and a video, after signing in the first time, I get the we have more updates for you, then I get about 4 reboots with similar messaged. then my desktop starts to open and the log in screen flashes up and I put in my password which flashes my desktop the flashes back to log in screen again I can't seem to break this cycle. To night I'll take some pictures and a short video, this is all very strange, especially since others on the ROG fourm are not experiencing this.
So tonight I'l make my last attempt with pictures and video, after that I see no way around attempting a clean install. Along with the decision of whether to continue with the IRST driver or changing to Non Raid and using the Samsung NVME Driver and finding all my product keys, removing keys from some programs so I won't have issues reinstalling. I guess that's a 2 evening job.
