New windows 10 update (KB4041676) Causes program and game crashes

    Hi guys,

I sometimes program, and sometimes play an occasional game

Like for instance, windows 10 yesterday got updated on my main desktop computer and this update KB4041676 got installed.

Today I get random crashes in Android studio as well as in Witcher3.

Got me frustrated. I uninstalled it.

    Any official news about that?

There were only two known issues in the notes and neither pertained to gaming.

I have downloaded new Graphics drivers and for the time being that seems to have resolved the issue.

I uninstalled the update but it quickly got reinstalled. I wish Microsoft would soft-iron that issue.

From what I can tell, at glace - Graphics drivers were the cause (they were NVidia drivers from September, I think), coupled with the new update - Crashes everywhere

Very interesting, Nvidia graphic driver updates(Manually) solved some problems for me too a while back(recently).

I'm running 385.69 without issue and am about to update to 387.92 so I'll report back if anything strange happens around it.

I don't know which were last drivers.
I have a GTX 750 GPU so a slightly better entry level gaming GPU, albeit slightly outdated.

    witcher 3 crashed mid game
Android studio crashed when manipulating resources.
Warhammer total war crashed (didn't even load)

    387.92 solved it for me.
It all started with the update.

Cant tell you how irksome that was :)

Every time I try to UNinstall the windows update: Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB4041676) 12/10/2017

It starts to uninstall and than stops and gives me this error message: An error has occurred. Not all of the updates were successfully uninstalled.

I am trying to uninstall this update completely because it has caused me all sorts of problems on my laptop with windows 10 and has caused me nightmare after nightmare, headache after headache.

I have tried EVERYTHING but can't get it to uninstall. How can I uninstall it please?
    Any ideas?

Please explain in simple terms not technical terms as I am only a beginner thank you.

Thank you in advance for any advice on this. :)
