It probably didn't find the adapter so I'm not sure it actually installed. If you look in device manager and see both chipset in the list then yes. That said I doubt it will show. If the hardware isn't there it shouldn't install.

Another member may disagree, lets see who posts and what device manager says.

Glad to hear lagginess has declined.

I doubt it would install, either. 99.99% sure. If somehow it got in there, Device Manager may show some Unknown stuff with the yellow warning triangle. If so, I would uninstall them right there in Device manager. Rogue code floating around is never good.

hey so I just powered on the pc and it installed the new cumulative update automatically.i don't know how it is possible though(most of the time I have to check)oh yeah and after I did the update reset(the one with the mmc problem)there is a new booting screen which is pitch black and has the loading thing.the new booting screen comes up after the normal booting screen finishes.in case you want to know I have disabled fast start up because it wouldn't work. it would say that I turned off the pc suddenly, it had an s5 error and smth else.

the new boot screen stopped but I saw this on event viewer The description for Event ID 1060 from source Application Popup cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

    \??\C:\Windows\SysWow64\drivers\SECDRV.SYS

the message resource is present but the message is not found in the string/message table
and this The SecDrv service failed to start due to the following error:
This driver has been blocked from loading. How do I fix this and was it caused cause I played halo evolve. The ryzen driver created a folder called amd here is the picwindows 10 update troubleshoot-untitled.png

From what I can see SecDrv is a driver from older games and the encryption security to prevent bootleg copies.

I think the AMD drivers are not causing any issues. They created a folder so they could unpack. The install likely ran and not finding hardware it ended.

In event viewer can you expand the Windows logs and find the actual 1060 event so we can see the information from it.

    I found this.....

Not being a gamer, was your version of halo compatible with 10?

If you cannot identify what old thing you loaded I would start with auditing the Start Up tab in task manager. Open Task manager, click on start up tab, you may first have to click on show more details, then each item should be examined. What does each item do? If you are unsure do not disable. Google can be a great reference.

If it is not within Start Up tab then it is an Autorun and you will need a sysinternal program to examine. The program is very powerful, only delete things you absolutely know you don't need. Back up registry before using and have a Image (Macrium Reflect) so you can recover in case of mishap.

While I know it is more work at this point I would do a clean install. Too much water under bridge to figure out what has gone on and what is going on.

    Clean Install Windows 10

Before trying diagnostic procedures I always recommend that you create a backup of your data off machine, create an Image with a tool like Macrium Reflect and have bootable media that matches your current Windows environment.

Backup and Restore with Macrium Reflect
