search for Update History
Again the clue at the end of your post, for which thanks, I'll look thru it, is that 'the service hasn't been started'.
So it seems some service is in the wrong state or unable to run for whatever reason.
As you can already see, the state of the Windows Update service is different to mine (in two ways).
RPC, RPC Endoint... & DCOM server.... are the same as mine.
Event log:
Windows has an Event Viewer (search for it) but it's cumbersome and awkward.
Event Log Explorer (freeware) is more user friendly and supports searching.

As this may be daunting, you might try
a. Noting the time of the event (fault report)
b. Typing Reli in cortana's search bar and clicking on Reliability History

might find a report related to the update failure there.
If so, click on it and post any more detail.
But this is a very small selection of reports, and it may well not be included there.
