    OMG! Thank you very much!!
    After many failed attempts, I followed the instructions exactly, lo and behold, Windows 7 Home Premium is installing Windows 10 Home!

    Don't be so happy just yet. It's still on download phase. After that is preparing... after that you might get error and no window popup to upgrade.

    We all have to be patient if that's the case. Or try again, waste space on precious SSD (if you have one) and keep failing

    What?
    It says "Before you install Windows 10 Insider Preview, there's something that you should do"
    The button says "Check the Computer"

    EDIT: I clicked "Check the Computer" and it's back to"Windows 10 has been reserved".

    I had this error yesterday. Tried these steps this morning, and solved my 80240020 errors.

    Mate, what you posted is posted everywhere, and as you see they're trying this method.
    Doesn't work for all laptops, location doesn't matter. Hope that's clear now.

    This still doesn't work? I've tried doing what you've told me, deleting the files inside that Download folder and nothing happens.
    Tell a lie, actually something does happen.
    I open up CMD (ran as admin) and I type the code "wuauclt.exe /updatenow" and then it downloads the update for windows 10 for about 1 millisecond then it finds a problem. The EXACT same error number AGAIN.
    Anyway to fix this?
