I thought of Installing the update Manually, by going to "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download". But the thing turned out to be a lot of .Manifest, .MMU and .cat files.

If i hide this update then the rest will show up, I will try hiding these listed updates and check what actually gets installed, Or of there are any ways to Manually updated all these files that will be fine, hopefully. will disable av and check as well.

    Clean Install..

Reinstalled Windows 10 and that helped to push some updates to Install, but again the issue prevailed after installing some updates successfully :
This time the "Security Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3074683)"
    Failed to install.
    While it successfully installed :
    • Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3074686)
    • Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3074678)

I'm also having issues with KB3074683. I was fiddling for over an hour in order to get it working (involved removing SoftwareDistribution, DISM checks/rechecks, etc.). I've given up by now & will give it a try tomorrow, perhaps they'll release a 'proper' version of it.

Yet another failure.. I Downloaded the Windows Pro ISO file from Microsoft using their Download too and made a USB and clean installed the thing, And yet the same issue prevails
Security Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3074683)
Fails again, Security update is failing while the normal updates like
Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3074686)
gets past the line without any issues. Not sure what is going on.!

Could you please explain the steps which you did to resolve the issue with the update? The link seems to include too much data to process, Explain how you managed to get it working and perhaps that can mark the issue as solved. :)

The issue _should_ only affect users with Nvidia drivers (which Windows 10 will gladly install for you). However, the driver installation adds a new user profile with a broken profile link, which KB3074683 doesn't "like that much" since the profile path cannot be found.
So basically, all you have to do is to remove the "false" user profile key from the registry.

    Quoting Aaron44128:

It is enumerating user accounts, and then it hits the error. I have additional user accounts that were not listed (there should be one for -1074 and -1077), so it looks like it is enumerating accounts, hits a snag on one of them, and then fails.

You can see the full list of accounts on your system in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList.

In my case, the bad account (-1071) has a ProfileImagePath of "C:\Users\UpdatusUser". There is another account, -1077, that has the same ProfileImagePath. I'm wondering if the -1071 account is bad or hanging around after having been deleted.

For other people having the problem: I am wondering if your situation is similar. Let me know what you see. This evening I may try deleting the -1071 account since it is not a real user account, to see if that fixes the problem. I don't have time to work on it until after business hours. I'll post back if I find anything else interesting.

Windows 10 Updates fails to install even after multiple attempts.-capture.png

These are the updates I'm currently having trouble with. I already tried getting help from Microsoft themselves but they suck and it's already been a couple of days since these updates were rolled out. I've already tried a couple of fixes namely Windows update diagnostic, Mr. Fix (but it doesn't support Windows 10), and a few registry cleaners (but they don't support Windows 10 too). I've tried searching for help online but nobody else seems to have the problem but us or they're just too dumb to notice. At this point, I'm not thinking of another clean install. It takes too long and I have a lot of paperwork to finish.

You can download 79 and 83 from Wzor - I'll have to upload 78 for you though - a bit later.
