''Your Windows 10 license will expire soon''

Hello, I have a problem, every time i turn on my PC theres a message saying ''your windows 10 will expire soon'' for 2 days now. I got my PC made from a local Gaming PC building company and they installed the Windows for me, ive never had this problem with my laptop before. Any help please? Hi ErikP. Welcome to the TenForums @ErikP

First things first, call the company and ask what is going on??

Your license should not be expiring. What does this message suggest you do, just in case it is Malware. Please don't click on links in message. Can you post a screen shot? (Picture with phone)

What does the activation screen under Settings - Updates & Security show? Also, in a Command Prompt (Admin) or Powershell (Admin) run:

    slmgr /dlv

    and post the results.

I just updated my Insider Preview [formerly known as Technical Preview] computers to Version 1703 Build 16521.0 and it shows an expiration date of 7/2/2018. The only other times I've seen an expiration date on Windows has been when delaying the activation, 30 days on a new install and 3 days on a reinstall [or 'dirty' install].

I saw this when someone updated to windows 10 whilst they were at work. It was activated using the companies volume licence. For that we had to contact microsoft help (online chat) and they managed to remotely change the licence as it was a windows 7 upgrade. Your problem is slightly different as you bought the PC and it came with this copy.

I think your first step is to contact the company you got it from as the OS is licenced to them instead of you. I would have expected them to have given you something when you bought the PC, not sure if you still get a licence key.
