    how to stop the download right now

    Hello,
    Since upgrade the window 10 could not be finished succesfuly, each time I connect to the internet, it unknowingly starts to download a big package of the upgrade and it refuses to be deleted.
    How can I stop the download except pulling the internet plug out, so I cannot make a normal browsing. I will make another attempt to upgrade in the coming weekend, but how to stop the download right now ? The normal updates option is still disabled.
    Need some help
    Thanks

    Hello and thanks.
    Thats the problem, I tryed many times, update runs until about 72 - 75% and at some restart it freezes and nothing goes on, even left it over night - so this is a Merry go Round, try to update - freeze restore from image and again.
    What I asked is how to stop it, cannot be microsoft takes over my computer.

    Cannot install windows - computer received with windows installed - do not have the installation disk, and besides, this will erase all my programs including office, thats the problem.
    At this weekend I'll make another try after googling for some answers.
    Thanks

    No no no I mean reinstall via the options menu in Windows itself, or turning back your pc via a restoration point...

    [QUOTE=Motim;1089901]Hello,

    It’s possible that some prior updates have been delayed but now have reached a point that they will be downloaded because the time frame of delaying them has passed. Then at the same time, subsequent updates are going to be included: as mentioned it’s most likely trying to update to CU 1703.

    The 72 - 75% freezing up indicates to me that there could be system files issues and the computer technically isn’t ready for the CU 1703 update and/or trying to catch up to multiple updates is also part of the problem.

    You are very interested in maintaining all of your programs including office: I'm with you on that.
    On your office program, if it’s Microsoft Office, I believe you will not lose the program if you have the product key: you can call Microsoft about that if you and I’m pretty sure they’ll help you on that.
    On other programs, that will involve more effort though: can you get install media on what those other programs are?

    If saving programs and office can be resolved, reinstalling Windows should make sense.
