    Problems - Microsoft KB4025339

Laptop Windows 10 Pro 64 bit.

The above update would not install. Ran the troubleshooter for windows updates (this indicated that approx 4/5 corrections were made), and a 'partial result' was achieved, in that If I now go to 'settings' - click on update history - the update is now listed there in the left hand column, but, it says underneath a restart is required to successfully complete update. Restarting the laptop does not alter this in any way..
    Any ideas guys?
    Thanks in advance

Thank you dalchina for your time and thoughts. I have to confess that this is a little above my level of understanding.

Since My original post, I have noted that the window update troubleshooter reports a potential Windows update database error. I have since run DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth, and also sfc /scannow - which have had no effect.

Possible need for re-install perhaps? or have I not yet exhausted the obvious remedial routes??

    Did these pass?
    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth, and also sfc /scannow - which have had no effect.
From the Tutorial section (which you're free to search and browse) you can try

    Hi dalchina
sorry I should have mentioned of course that YES, both 'DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth and sfc /scannow' did in fact flag up all was well.

Since my last post I have uninstalled KB4025339 - restarted etc etc.
When I now go to settings / update status, the update is now once again showing 100% downloaded, and now appears to be 'stuck'
I now have two entries for this update in the update history column .... one says installation failed, and the other says needs restart to complete installation !!! (which as reported does not work)

I will leave this for a long time to see if it in fact decides to install. Again many thanks for your help.

    Well
    what a turn up !!!!!
Left for half hour +, and suddenly a message appeared asking me to restart. This I did, and the install completed successfully.
Why oh Why do all the windows 10 updates take so long (or are subject to other upsets and failure).

    Thanks for your help dalchina
