MS Defender updates from Windows Update in settings fail, other Updates successful, but MS Defender from Control panel can update the same definition updates without problems (why, oh, why? can't I just select and copy from settings?

)

Over this time, I need to fix insider builds, but have a problem:

SFC and Dism component store health fix report no problems

Any Ideas?

I seen your pic - it seems like MS wants us out of preview - no advanced options either..
Looks like we get to keep 10240 - just forget a clean re-installation of it - Key is blocked

But it is activated, on 19 July, when the activation servers were meant to be down. I had intended to replace my original 10240 upgrade on 15th july, which is excruciatingly slow to start, but otherwise behaves perfectly, and the insider account works fine. But because updates are flaky here, I can't trust it.
