Open administrative powershell and type or copy and paste these commands:

    1) Get-WindowsUpdateLog
This may take approximately 5 minutes. A log will appear on the desktop. Please post a share link into the thread.

    2) sfc /scannow

    3) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Please post share links for each the cbs and dism logs.

    4) winver (view the windows version and build and post into the thread)

Which antivirus software are you using?

There is additional information that we can see in the logs typically used for bsod processing. There may be useful information about the computer environment in the logs.
Please use this link to post a zip file in the thread:

While you are trying all possible options (good guide by zbook), forget to ask you, if you have checked option for getting update files from local network.

Just in case.. check it (under Windows update / advance options / how the files are delivered and turn everything to "off"

Yes, an in-place repair install will do that. 15063.0 is the build on the .iso, normally an update would then take you up to the latest build.

Just a thought, do you have a metered connection set? If so, set it to unmetered and see if that lets the download complete. That has 'stalled' updates for me with 1703.

Don't think so, as he said updates downloaded, but won't install... OP will tell for sure

All that effort of yours for nothing. It really was set as metered connection, I never did that though. Marking this solved and probably never asking again because this is so so embarrassing haha. Thank you, everybody.

What do you mean metered connection?
That's what was then producing the: SHUTDOWN_REASON_AUTOSTOP ?????

How do you make or not make a metered connection?

How does a metered connection prevent a manual download?

No idea about the shutdown reason, but for some reason my ethernet was set as "Metered connection" which windows update won't do anything it seems.
