Windows update stuck at downloading updates 1%

    You can use a windows 10 iso virtual dvd or bootable windows 10 iso for an in place upgrade if the clean boot method does not work.

    You will not boot to the windows 10 iso and instead you will open the iso within windows 10 by finding setup.exe
    Then perform a repair install.

    the system disk's usage was high but after a while it dropped again to 0% and the windows update got to 1% and is stuck again. Any other ideas before I do in-place ?

    Looked for failure and or corruption but was unable to find source problem.
    Please perform in place upgrade.

    It was update: KB4022405
    You can attempt a manual update from the Microsoft catalog while in clean boot:

    It says I already have it installed on my computer. I will just perform the in place upgrade now. I'll try windows update then and let you know

    in-place is finished, but I don't see any change? the update is still stuck, but now it's 5% - what is going on
