    Windows Update Error 0x80240439

I've been getting this error for a month now, and I haven't been able to fix it. Every time I try to scan for updates, the message "There were some problems installing updates, but we’ll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x80240439)" appears after a few seconds of scanning. The message will appear, regardless of how many times I retry. Help would be much appreciated. Thank you

    You can try this:
Reset Windows Update in Windows 10

Note: It is important to restart the computer right after running the .bat file.

    Hope this helps.

    Good luck,

Thanks for the suggestion, but the error still persists... Is there anything else I can try?

Go to Control Panel> Troubleshooting> select Fix Problems with Windows Update

You really haven't provided enough information to properly assist in the resolution of your problem.

What version and build are you currently running (run winver command and post results)

Are you an Insider member subscribed to either the fast or slow ring perhaps?

I tried the Windows Update troubleshooting, and that didn't resolve the problem. Sorry for not providing this information sooner.

This member has the exact same problem and my last advice to him would be the same to you as well:

    Windows Updates???

Thank you for trying to help, but this unfortunately didn't work either. Would a clean install of windows fix my problem?

    Maybe try this:
Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

If you are referring to the two ideas you suggested, I tried them but didn't have any luck. That user's case is different to mine, as it tells him that he's up to date, but mine gives me the 0x80240439 error. If it is any help, I also get error -2145123271 in Windows Defender Protection Updates.
