I thought you might find it interesting that now that I'm down to only 5 items left uninstalled, the Pending Updates has gone from 18 to 25+MB.

I did get here 05/09/2017 with the Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant. The whole process went without incident.

Two more ideas and then I would hope someone else could chime in and help you because I'm out of ideas:

    1. Make sure the "Give me Microsoft Updates is unchecked." If checked, uncheck it, reboot and try again:

    2. Completely Disable Windows Update from downloading (and installing) drivers:

Turned off the "other" updates. Shutdown, start up, run WU and no updates. Says I'm up to date. THEN checking the Show/Hide Updates Troubleshooter, Microsoft Silverlight (KB4017094) is no longer on the list! Not in the Update history or the Uninstall Updates List either.

Next, my advanced Options page does not have an Enable/Disable option regarding drivers as shown in the tutorial. Mine is just like yours posted above.

I really do appreciate your attempts to help. It would be nice if I knew what I was doing.

Edit: Oh and BTW, SFC /SCANNOW found no problems.

Wait, but you didn't get the error you were reporting previously? It just said no updates available?

Then your error code problem is now fixed?

If so, then you don't need to bother with disabling driver updates.

You could try a repair upgrade, it will keep your apps/settings, but it will reset Windows.

Or try this, download WF.bat and run it as admin.

Hey. The repair is the last thing I want to try. I'm convinced this has to do with the CU on 05/09/17. Strangely enough the same thing is going on with Gayle's hp Laptop.

The WF.bat, run it from Command Prompt or PowerShell?

Keep in mind, I really don't know what I'm doing.

Did the Reset with no change, except now MS Silverlight (mentioned in Post #23) is back on the list. Something that may be of interest, each time I run WU the KB size Pending Updates & Preview Builds keeps increasing, but there's no new additions to the number of updates.

    This is eating my lunch!

    The Saga Continues

After spending literally hours on this, I've found a work-around, for the lack of a better description. I now get a Windows Updates run with no errors and it populates the Update History.

Cycling thru the Show/Hide (thanks @WOT for this one) program, hiding the offending files seems the best option. It leaves no errors in the Windows Update Troubleshooter. Troubleshooter is not able to delete these updates. All of which makes me wonder if the problem isn't more with these specific updates rather then the Windows Update function.

I know this is out of date, but wonder if someone can shed some light on it maybe being a solution here: https://social.technet.microsoft.com...w7itprogeneral

Any and all comments are welcome.

The folder and it's sub-directories gets rebuilt when deleted - it just stores updates should you want to uninstall them. The folder can get huge so purging it is not big deal.

I had to update some commands posted here: Windows 10 Update Error 0x80240439 - Windows 10 Forums

Thought it was time to upgrade it to powershell, and included the commands of the link you posted. in this script.
