Win 10 Retail random activation request

hi guys i have a problem.I have win 10 updated to CU(1703) with last update.
I updated with Iso mounted in windows place(no clean install)

After the update, windows was activated, but sometimes in the right bottom of the screen there is a "windows is not acivated"

The strange thing is if i run
    slmgr.vbs -dlv
    slmgr.vbs -xpr

windows result perfectly activated. What should be?

What does Settings > Update & security > Activation say? Does it have a Digital license?

    Hi there

Not sure if it now always connects to the internet and checks at every boot to see if there's a digital licence.
The best way to check would be to shut down the machine, disconnect it from the Internet and re-boot. See if it activates within a few minutes without connecting to the internet.

    Cheers

For comparison, I have tried this too. In Win 10 Pro x86 v. 1703, os build 15063.296 I disconnected WiFi and turned WiFi off, then restarted. Then I shut down and restarted again, just to be sure.

Settings > Update & security > Activation still reports "Windows is activated with a digital licence".
Slmgr.vbs /xpr reports "The machine is permanently activated."

i have tried this me too, and i reports "The machine is permanently activated."

    for now seem all ok.
    Do you use retail key?

the strange thing is that sometimes with the cmd Slmgr.vbs /xpr windows is activated, but Settings > Update & security > Activation say reports windows not activated

Digital licences are renewable and checked at certain intervals - Event viewer lists "Network available" as one task trigger - if the activation server is unavailable an error will be reported...

It does seem that something has changed in CU though.. as I checked my event log and saw the error 0x803F7001 (server not available) occured one day then the next no errors.

    I didn't get any notifications/deactivations etc.

I just checked as a matter of interest when dealing with this

I had issues with activating my Enterprise install(s) with my MAK key. Running slmgr /ato from the command line fixed it though. And surprise, surprise, they all got Digital Licenses. The changes to the way Windows 10 activates with each new consumer release, I think has things in a flux. I'm not sure everybody at Microsoft is on the same page activation wise? IMHO, something is not quite right on the activation servers.

As near as I can tell, everything except VL KMS gets a Digital License now.
