    winload.efi error during creator's update, error 0xc0000225

Hello all,I have upgraded from windows 10 home to Windows 10 education using key from Microsoft imagine a few months ago. When I try to apply creator's update using Windows 10 upgrade assistant, I get the following error at the boot:winload.efi error during creator's update, error 0xc0000225-img_20170414_150729-1362-.jpg

If I select F8 or Enter, nothing happens. Pressing esc takes me to Bios. And after restarting, it boots normally without applying creator's update.

In update history, it shows that following update is applied "Windows 10 Creators Update Privacy Settings for x64-based Systems (KB4013214)"

I have my laptop in UEFI, AHCI(changed from RAID at the time of dual boot with Ubuntu).

How can I solve this issue?

    Thanks

I would recommend you recreate your media using the Media Creator Tool with an 8GB USB key.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/soft...load/windows10

Before running "Setup" from the key please enter your BIOS and ensure secure boot is disable while you do the update.

I'm assuming from what I'm reading is you can boot to an operational Windows although using the Anniversary version, 1607.

If you want upgrade to Creators Update, which I think you are trying to do, if you create the USB and then from File Explorer you navigate to the key and run setup it will do an in place Upgrade. If you boot from key it will allow you to do a clean install which is not what you want to do.

Please ensure you backup data. You shouldn't need, better to have then wish you had. Please see this tutorial.

Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

What is not available until 1 May? The current Media Creation Tool downloaded directly from Microsoft creates a USB flash drive with Windows 10 Pro, Home, Single Language, and Education Editions all in one.

You mean the creator's update for Windows 10 education will show up in (settings->update and security) on May 1st?
Can you give the link where it says that?

I have also read here that windows sets a flag if an update is not successful and this flag prevents failed updates from showing up in (settings->update and security).

Windows 10 education is not mentioned in the table on that page: https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/soft...load/windows10

    note
Education (imagine) does NOT follow standard rules
The tool does include the files but are currently unavailable (blocked) for general release

I was told in the Microsoft forums that I will need to purchase a key to get creator's update on Windows 10 Education. This is just ridiculous now.
