Certainly will not, one SSD with W7 on it will be staying with this system which will go in another case. I'll most probably will have to do clean install of W10 on new system although it's pretty fresh by my standards, since 15002. Before that it lasted since W7 Sp1 > W 8 > W8.1 and all Insider versions.
I'm quite jealous. I'm a bit too much like Geoge Best when it comes to money to have any to squander on a new CPU at the moment alas.

This one is older than some kids playing on it so I guess next generation is in order. I never bought whole system, always just upgrading bit by bit. There's nothing more I can do for this one as generation changed. Once I make that hop I can start upgrading again. I think there's at least few screws left on this one from my first 386.
Reminds me of Terry Pratchett...This, milord, is my family's axe. We have owned it for almost nine hundred years, see. Of course, sometimes it needed a new blade. And sometimes it has required a new handle, new designs on the metalwork, a little refreshing of the ornamentation . . . but is this not the nine hundred-year-old axe of my family? And because it has changed gently over time, it is still a pretty good axe, y'know. Pretty good.

I'm sure Linux will have some sort of kernel mods for it -- Linux doesn't necessarily have to go through the same processes to get stuff out of the door because there are always hobbyists etc working with it -- the downside of course is it might / might not work on all systems.
I use Linux as a server because I don't have to run the latest versions -- e. running CENTOS 7 (the Free clone of RHEL enterprise server used by zillions of companies around the world) --stable as a rock and for basic file / multi-media serving and Internet gateway it doesn't have to be running on leading edge hardware.

W10 running as a VM on Linux works perfectly - so no probs running Office 2016 etc.
However there's a reasonably good FREE clone which works also on Linux -- much better then openoffice or Libre office --doesn't have an email client though unfortunately but it it's really compatible with the rest of the standard Ms Office suite.

Try the free LibreOffice, actually cross-platform with Linux, Windows and Macintosh. It's quite similar to Microsoft Office and compatible with the file formats, even the discontinued Microsoft Works. Only downside is doesn't have a comparable E-Mail Client for Outlook. As for Games, it depends on whether the game programmers create for Linux, most don't, but there's a lot of different games available, just not the high-powered ones.
