Frankly it is more hassle than it is worth trying to sort this. It is easier to download the latest CU iso, double click on it and run setup.exe and upgrade bypassing the problem. If you do get it working, first thing it will do is upgrade you anyway.
I must respectfully disagree. If the cumulative updates are failing, whatever is causing them to fail is more than likely going to cause the upgrade to Creator's Update to fail too. What I do in a situation like this is if the simple Windows Update Troubleshooter doesn't fix it then I shrink the existing Windows partition to as small as it will go, do a clean install to the empty space. Once I get all the data copy out of the old Windows install, delete the partition and expand the new partition to fill it.

Hi, that's a start- of course you can try, but my guess is there'll be more you need to do from that list I provided.

I tried updating again after running a checkdisk, but the problems persists. I also ran the windows update troubleshooting tool and it said that it found a problem with the database. It also said that some windows components has been repaired.

Try post #2 here (Fix bat etc).

If nothing helps, and you've no restore points to use to return to a state when it was working, and no disk images or similar to restore (which we repeatedly and strongly recommend) then that leaves either

    - upgrade to the Creator's Upgrade build by manually downloading it and then running setup.exe in normal mode
    - an in-place upgrade repair install (If unsure, see the Tutorial section).
= refresh Windows by returning to the base build of your current Windows build, keeping all programs.

I just tried the fix from your post, but it didn't solve the problems. I guess i will have to try upgrading to creator's build.

Before attempting the upgrade, please create a disk image as a matter of routine to protect yourself. We recommend Macrium Reflect (free) + its boot medium + external disk for the image(s). A few people have ended up with unbootable PCs or lost data.

Also read the extensive threads on this forum about the creator's build to get an idea of what some have experienced.
