Thanks for the reply TC, I tried that yesterday but it didn't solve anything. I wouldn't mind but I did a clean install only last weekend.
    Wellllllllll......don't throw something....

Might have to again and set to Slow, or even Release Preview. Might be a bug in the MS process of dropping back a ring. I've never done it, so I don't know. Not sure I want to try!

    Sorry.......

P.S. - just to complicate your life, 16170 came out today......

That's my problem though, as I said the update is already installed so I can't understand why updater keeps trying to install it again.
    Download Tweaking.com - Windows Repair - MajorGeeks

Run the above tool, only fix windows update , it worked for me.

You're not alone DooGie I have the identical problem. Tried the identical fixes and nothing has worked. Quite frustrating little bugger

It added another instance of failed install:

Well it's nice to hear I'm not on my own :) I agree though it is a frustrating little bugger and there doesn't seem to be a fix for it.
I'm wondering whether it's just worth waiting for the next CU release and hope that it fixes the problem.
