Now working for me as well. Updated this morning to virus and spyware definition 1.239.841.0 with no errors.

As of this morning (04/05/2017) the Windows Defender application is working flawlessly. It seems between the definition update I received this morning and the one I was trying to download last night have a sequential gap, but I'm not going to question something that is working fine now.

I might also add that I did this update through the Windows Update interface; not the Windows Defender UI.

I had the problem last time but just checked and the definitions update is working properly at this time on this machine.

I've been running 1703 (Creator's Update) for the past few days and the definition updates are proceeding without errors at this point in time.
