    Mysterious Update


    Hello. A few hours ago, when I shut off my pc, I had the screen "Preparing to configure Windows. Do not turn off your computer." And it took about 20 mins. I thought it was an update, but Update Chronology says last update was on 15 March, so 2 days ago.What happened?

    Turn it back on and check Update History, see if anything shows there.

    That happened to me once. Are you using Windows Defender as your AV? It might have been that. They do not show in the Update History. You might want to look at Reliability History (right-click Start button, select "Run", enter "perfmon.exe /rel" [no quotes], then click "OK"). That usually gives a little more information.
