    Why has KB3150513 just installed?


    I'm running build 14393.953 after last nights updates. Twiddling my fingers tonight waiting for a gaming session I thought I'd do a manual check for updates but didn't expect anything. Pretty surprised to see this.

    As far as I know this was released as a compatibility check for Windows 10 AU.

    Seems you're correct...

    This update doesn't contain binary code. It just contains new data for AppRaiser (Windows 10 Compatibility tool).
    March 15th 2017 Update KB3150513 for Windows 10 Version 1607

    Apparently....

    This update provides the latest set of definitions for compatibility diagnostics that are performed on the system. The updated definitions will help enable Microsoft and its partners to ensure compatibility for all customers who want to install the latest Windows operating system. Installing this update also makes sure that the latest Windows operating system version is correctly offered through Windows Update, based on compatibility results....

    This update will be offered only if the following prerequisite updates are installed:

    • On Windows 10 Version 1607: the March 14, 2017, cumulative update (KB4013429)

    Perhaps it's in preparation for the Creators Update?

    No I'm not having any problems, just wondered what was going on. I'd have thought it would be a different KB number if it was a compatibility check for RS2.
