You may not need to sort it out, the Creators Update may well be out before get to the bottom of this.

I have used wushowhide to hide this update, not because it doesn't install, but because on some systems systems (mine included) it has bugs playing some types of videos.

    Hi Bree and OldMike65,

I appreciate your added information about the Creator's Update. It really isn't something that lights my fire right now. I figure if I am having trouble loading a Cumulative Update I will probably never be able to handle that update ....lol

    But, thanks for the info.

    Thanks and regards,

    EventData errorCode 0x800f0922
update- Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB4013429)
Update would get to 99% and then fail. Windows Update repairs did not help.
Eventually resizing the Recovery partition on a SSD, to increase it by 4gb, allowed the update to succeed.

Thumbs up for Aomei Partition Assistant, Acronis TI, a Windows 10 repair disc, and sheer determination.

    OldMike65,

appreciate your 'thought' ... but I am going to try to get to the bottom of my problem.

When I had a similar problem several months back I tried doing the failing update with a .cab file. The Microsoft site I went too actually had a file with .cab on the end instead of a 'msu' like was on the Update file you had me download and try to install.

Is this something I made up in my 74-year old mind or is there a site where you can get Cumulative Updates via .cab files?

Ok dear you can try this to install the "msu" update ....Think I've explained it for you....

    Manual update of KB4013429
In order to use Windows Update Stand-alone Installer (Wusa.exe) to install MSU files

    Rename windows10.0-kb4013429-x64_ddc8596f88577ab739cade1d365956a74598e710, to
    windows10.0-kb4013429-x64.msu

Move update file to C:\updates. (make dir on your C-drive, Updates.)
Open command prompt, right-click Start and select Command Prompt(Admin)
    Type the following command:

    wusa.exe c:\updates\windows10.0-kb4013429-x64.msu
