    Hello @Moutro,

If you like, see if this below may help for this issue:

    1. Open Device Manager (devmgmt.msc).

    2. Right click on your phone listed in Device Manager, and click on "Update driver".

    3. Click on "Browse my computer for driver software" in wizard.

    4. Click on "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer"

    5. Check the "Show compatible hardware" box, select "MTP USB Device", and click on "Next".

    6. Hopefully, Windows will be able to successfully install a working driver for it.

This driver also popped up on my system today.

System does not recognize my Lumia Phone anymore (shows as Unknown Device)

Same thing on my Windows 10 Tablet, same problem with phone there.

DO NOT INSTALL! It will break your phone connection, and maybe some other things too. Microsoft are not giving any help whatsoever and I've just spent ages trying to get rid of it. I used the above fix, and now have y Windows Phone back, many thanks!

Yep that cures the missing phone problem. I had two MTP USB ones as well as the rogue MTP one.

    Thank you Brink, that worked!!!

I also restarted my PC but the update is still there. Windows update history says it's installed and then that it's failed.... I'm just gonna hide it and get rid of that crap.

Oh and microsoft, thank you too.
