Here's the final script for anyone who needs to extract and save current product key: Key.zip

Download the ZIP archive, unblock, extract and run it. The script writes your product key to file C:\ProductKey.txt.

To unblock a ZIP archive, right click it and select Properties > Unblock > OK:

My experience on testing it last night was the same as Berton - it activated 1607 after clean install without my needing to do anything.

I'm not 100% sure this would work but another thing to do would be to follow the steps here to copy the gatherosstate program off the ISO installer, run it on desktop, and then save the GenuineTicket.XML file which it produces on a separate drive.

On upgraded systems ShowKeyPlus usually shows the generic Windows 10 key in addition to original 7 or 8 key, in case of PRO edition the one ending with 3V66T. You cannot activate Windows 10 PRO with the generic key key.

ShowKeyPlus is what that program shows.

I guess Original Key would work?

Please edit your post ASAP and remove your screenshots! Do not ever show your valid original product keys in your posts! Anyone seeing them can use them, the keys might not work anymore when you try them next time because another user has already used them.

Always when posting screenshots with sensitive information like product keys, blur / mask / hide any parts that can be misused by not too honest viewers.

To assist you we have no need to know your product keys, not the original Windows 7 key, not the current Windows 10 key.
