    Windows Update Query


    I got a message of new updates available today which includes "Windows Defender" as usual. But there was one more which is.

    "NVIDIA - Display - 12/29/2016 12:00:00 AM - 21.21.13.7653"

    Is it trying to update my Nvidia Drivers? I'm still using version 368.81 which was updated on 14/07/2016.

    Should I update it or let it be?

    Yes, that's update to your GPU driver. MS gets drivers from HW manufacturers so it actually comes from Nvidia. Personally I like to have all latest drivers but I get them straight form manufacturer's sites. Occasionally latest driver does not equal greatest but it could always be returned to earlier version.

    So you are suggesting I should get the driver from Nvidia's website. I can get something from Jan cause my current drivers are from July 2016. Cause I have heard downloading drivers from Win update causes issues.

    Yes, it's almost always better to get drivers directly from the source.
